What can I expect during my visits?

The first visit usually takes somewhere from 1.5 to 2 hours. During which we will discuss your health concerns, medical history, perform a physical examination and determine your diagnosis. From this we will develop your individualize treatment plan, which is unique to your health condition and your personal goals. Your treatment plan may include Acupuncture, Massage, NAET, Herbal Medicine, Dietary and Lifestyle recommendations as well as other treatments.

Follow up treatments usually last 45 to 75 minutes and are modified as your health condition changes.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

I usually suggest 4 to 6 treatments followed by an evaluation. Each person and condition is unique, the number of treatments is determined by the nature, severity and history of the condition as well as constitution of the patient, their lifestyle and dedication to their health goals.  Chronic illnesses usually require more time and acute problems tend to respond faster.  The general rule is that the longer persons health has been out of balance, the longer it takes for the condition to resolve.

Is Acupuncture painful?

Before the first treatment, some people have fear or anxiety, most are then quite surprised  how little discomfort there actually is. Additionally, many patients describe a feeling of pleasant relaxation during a typical treatment. There should be little or no pain upon insertion as the Acupuncture needle is very thin and my needling technique is very gentle. Sometimes there is a tingling sensation when the needle is stimulated.

Is Acupuncture safe?

There are no known negative side effects from acupuncture, other than occasional bruising. Acupuncture needles are sterile and disposed immediately after use.
